Abstract

ABSTRACT
Vocabulary is one of the important aspects of learning English because it supports students'
ability to communicate and understand the language. However, many elementary school
students still experience difficulties in memorizing and understanding English vocabulary.
Therefore, interesting and interactive learning media are needed to increase students’
motivation in learning. One of the media that can be used is kids’ songs on YouTube.
This study aims to determine whether the use of kids’ songs on YouTube can improve the
vocabulary mastery of fifth-grade students at MI Darul Muta’allimin Patianrowo Nganjuk.
This study is expected to use a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. The
subjects of this study are fifth-grade students at MI Darul Muta’allimin Patianrowo Nganjuk.
The data collection techniques are conducted through vocabulary tests and observations
during the learning process.
The findings are predicted to show that the use of kids’ songs on YouTube can improve
students’ vocabulary mastery as well as increase their interest and motivation in learning
English. This learning media is also expected to create a more enjoyable and interactive
learning atmosphere.
Based on these predictions, it can be concluded that kids’ songs on YouTube have the
potential to become an effective learning medium for improving elementary school students’
English vocabulary mastery.
