Abstract

Language Awareness (LA) has become one of the most important approaches in English Language Teaching (ELT), especially in modern EFL classrooms that emphasize critical thinking, technology integration, and student-centered learning. The study uses a qualitative literature review method to analyze how Language Awareness contributes to communicative competence, learner autonomy, and digital learning practices. The findings reveal that Language Awareness improves students’ linguistic sensitivity, enhances reflective learning, supports critical language analysis, and encourages meaningful communication. Furthermore, integrating digital tools such as AI, online platforms, and multimedia resources strengthens awareness-based language learning. The review also highlights the importance of teacher language awareness as a professional competency in creating inclusive and effective EFL classrooms. The article concludes that Language Awareness should be widely implemented in ELT curricula and teacher education programs to prepare learners for communication in a digital and globalized world.
